Napili - Honokowai - Kahana

(pronounced: nah-PEE-lee , hoh-noh-koh-WHY, kah-HAH-nah) 

The combined Napili-Honokowai-Kahana district runs the approximately 5 miles between the districts of Kaanapali and Kapalua.

Less densely populated than neighboring Kaanapali, it is a popular destination for visitors who want to be close to the excitement of Lahaina, but prefer to get away from the crowds. Considered to be one of the top places for condo vacation rentals in West Maui, most properties boast unobstructed views of neighboring Lanai and Molokai and you get a front row seat to breeching whales in the winter months.

There are some great take-out restaurants in the area and a fabulous farmer’s market. Your vacation time is incredibly valuable, but I highly recommend you stand in the long line at The Gazebo (literally a small gazebo converted into a restaurant) at Napili Shores Condominium for the most amazing friend rice. Trust me, it’s worth the wait!
